All Ways Learning offers tutoring in Language Arts through our own curriculum, Responses to Literature, a therapy program for students with learning problems called Cross-Line Therapy, small group classes, and testing for diagnostic and evaluative purposes. We also offer Pre-Algebra for those having difficulty with the transition from Arithmetic to Algebra and in the future hope to offer lab sciences. Below is a description of our more popular programs. We offer an extensive course called Responses to Literature that uses natural language acquisition to teach reading, writing, and public speaking both cohesively and comprehensively. You will be asked not to use any other curriculum for any aspect of language arts instruction. As parents you are the primary teachers, but we will guide you in this process of helping your child discover the joy of real communication.
Course requirements—one to two hours of one-on-one, on site instruction per week and one to three hours of study at home per day, depending on level. Cross-Line Therapy This is a non-tutorial program which actually strengthens the brain in its areas of weakness. We don't want students to just to compensate for their learning difficulties, but rather we retrain the brain to be able to perform those tasks at a normal or better than average level. This then frees each student to reach his or her God-given potential.
Course requirements--one to three hours of one-on-one, on site therapy per week and fifteen minutes to one half hour of guided practice per day at home.
Drama In the past, AWL has produced a number full length dramatic presentations for students who show an interest and ability with creativity and performing arts. Past presentations include: Anne of Green Gables, Heidi, Little Women, The Princess and the Goblin, Toad's Adventures in the Wind in the Willows, and the Selfish Giant. Camps For many summers past AWL has hosted various day and overnight camps. These camps are generally organized around some academic or fine arts theme. We have had Drama, Language Arts, Math, and Science camps. |
